THE PRODUCT MEETS
THE REQUIREMENTS
LAID
DOWN AT THE DESIGN STAGES,
ASSURED IN TIME.
The prime rule of the founder, Angelo Luigi, quality is taken care of at every
stage of production and, for Columbus, is an essential condition. It is based
on two essential pillars:
Raw material quality inspection
Each batch of raw materials delivered to Columbus is accompanied by a certificate
of conformity indicating the results of the chemical analyses (i.e. quantometric
analysis to absorption), and the mechanical and geometrical characteristics.
With this document, the supplier checks that the material complies with
the purchase specifications. Columbus then conducts random tests in its own
internal laboratories.
Process inspection
Characteristics are identified at each stage of production (quotas, forms,
tolerances, etc.) that have to be checked to ensure the correct execution
of the part. Each operator checks that these characteristics correspond to
the specified values at specified intervals. A quality employee then randomly
makes spot checks to confirm that the process is under control. Finally,
each part is subjected to a visual inspection before delivery to the warehouse,
to ensure that even the smallest surface defects are eliminated.
